Trees are a material constraint where planning is concerned On large or locally prominent sites, it is advisable to engage the services of an arboriculturalist, who can carry out a tree survey in accordance with British Standard 5837 (Trees in relation to construction) |
Robert Yates is experienced in this type of work, and will not only give recommendations as to which trees are suitable for retention, but can also give advice on suitable construction methods, where buildings and services come into proximity with trees. We are also able to advise builders and developers on the legal constraints concerning trees i.e. Tree Preservation Orders, Conservation areas, Hedgerow regulations. |

It is frequently possible for existing trees to be successfully incorporated into a new development, and there are many positive reasons for doing this. It is essential, however, that an arboricultural consultant is brought into the process at the earliest possible stage. We can also mediate between the developer and LPA (Local Planning Authority), such that the passage of the application through the planning process will not be held up by otherwise unforeseen tree related issues. |
